About Our Center
OUR MISSION
What sets us apart?
Our time, our presence, and our expertise. New Harmony Center empowers patients with knowledge and skills to maintain life-long wellness in their lives and those of their families. We spend dedicated time with each client and view them as a whole person: our goal is to guide each person through a course of healing that begins with addressing the current concern, and develops a much stronger future wellbeing better than where they started. An important part of this is the education of each client with regard to lifestyle, mindset, what kinds of activities they can do to support their own healing, and to understand the factors that may contribute to the current concern. Because the body, mind, and spirit are interrelated, we need to consider the whole. Someone wanting a quick and temporary solution to a painful shoulder can find help here, but we are not looking for temporary fixes: we work towards longlasting change and lifelong wellbeing. We do treat the painful shoulder, but we also examine you holistically to understand why the shoulder is still hurting, how this might be related to longer term imbalances, and what it would take to heal the shoulder for good. This is why our intake visits are long and why we spend so much time getting to know you during each visit.
Who do we help?
Anyone who is ready to commit to making a change and embracing their wellbeing and their health, at any age. We have extensive experience supporting people with complex conditions who have not received support with traditional medical care. We treat whole families with children exposed to seasonal viruses, parents handling the ordinary challenges of middle age, and grandparents who may be facing new challenges with mobility, memory, incontinence, or who are wanting to live more fully into daily life. We work closely with doctors, naturopaths, and other providers as part of a team. We understand our medicine as complementary to - not separate from - regular Western medical care.
What services do we provide?
We use acupuncture, Chinese herbal therapy, shiatsu and acupressure bodywork, and cutting edge research-based healing therapies (including BEMER, BioMat, Vielight, near-infrared light, etc.). We also share new research-based knowledge on topics like nutrition, natural ways to support immune function, or how to improve cellular health. We periodically teach classes oriented towards general wellness, including how to treat yourself with acupressure or shiatsu, and movement-based therapies like QiGong. One important specialty of this clinic is the expertise of our senior herbalist/acupuncturist, Bryn Clark, and our exclusive raw herbal pharmacy that allows us to tailor specific formulas for hard-to-treat conditions like dermatology issues or other chronic, long-term challenges that have not been helped by a regular course of medical care.
TESTIMONIALS
“New Harmony Center is the healthcare solution that I was searching for, but didn't know existed until I was referred there for an herbal remedy. Amy Mills generously gave me her time explaining Shiatsu and telling me about Bryn Clark's exceptional practice of acupuncture and herbal treatments. I have had wonderful results from all three methods, as well as a Bio-Photon treatment that was so amazing, I didn't even think about pain for over a week afterwards. You are treated as a whole human being existing in this vast world which is all connected. Western medicine has so much to learn from the East - if only they could uncouple from Big Pharma!” Deb
“I went to New Harmony to get treatment for lower back pain caused by arthritis -- I'm in my late 60s and need to figure out how to deal with this for the rest of my life. I got a cycle of acupuncture treatments from Bryn Clark and am in the middle of a set of Shiatsu massage treatments from Amy Mills. Both specialists are spectacular and these treatments have really helped me -- not just in the moment, or for a day or two, but as a set of learning experiences that are genuinely helping me set a course for healthy living free of back pain.
Bryn not only understands and practices accupuncture super-skillfully; he is an educator-therapist with tremendously practical advice, much of which I have incorporated into my daily routines. (Like: doing cat-cows and child-poses before I get out of bed in the morning, to get the systems and fluids running before I ask my back to do anything semi-important. Magic.)
Amy conducts her sessions like a composer and orchestra conductor. They are like a wonderful piece of music, complete with opening "exchange" with me (the audience -- or am I in the orchestra?), then running through variations that involve some tissue massage, some joint bending, some stretching, some fluid movement. She returns, towards the end, to the opening theme and wraps it all up, often leaving me with the same kind of practical idea about some aspect of movement or exercising that stays with me -- as was the case with Bryn. It's a pretty powerful combination. I likely sound a bit woo-woo, especially in the paragraph above -- but I want to underscore the useful practicality of these sessions for me, along with their impact on my well-being in the moment. I've enjoyed them a lot, will keep going back, and recommend these folks wholeheartedly.” Andy
“I recently purchased their custom mosquito and tick repellent. Pleasant smell and effective on other pesky critters like deer flies as well!” Lauren
“I began my healing journey at New Harmony Wellness in April of '22 when I was suffering emotionally and hormonally from what I now know is perimenopause. I have been working with Kate since my first day at our intake together, and she has truly helped me come back to myself. Her attentive, kind, and sympathetic spirit was just the care I needed while she treated me with weekly acupuncture visits (to start) and found the best herbal remedies to help balance my system. Now I come in for monthly check-ins and anything I need at anytime Kate (and Jessica at the front desk) are ALWAYS there to help. I am SO grateful I found New Harmony Wellness and will be a lifelong member.” Brooke
“Came in for a bit of an emergency treatment today and between my first call to leaving the office it was such a treat to be there. Bryn pulled me out of an incredibly painful situation. I will def be back! I’ll bring my back back!” Midge
“I couldn't have been happier with my experience at this fabulous oasis for health and wellness. I arrived in crisis, in extreme pain trying to pass a kidney stone. The receptionist was warm and welcoming. The place itself is quite beautiful. As soon as the needles were in, my anxiety level dropped. The expert care I received from Bryn brought my pain level down from 10+ (on a 1 to 10 scale) to a 4/5 within approximately 90 minutes after receiving acupuncture and herbs. Instead of going back to the hospital, I was able to go home, continue the herbal recommendations and pass the stone 26 hours later with hardly any pain. I am going back for further recommendations to help prevent future kidney stones and the agony that accompanies them! I am profoundly grateful for Bryn's expert skills as a healer and his gentle, loving presence as a professional in the health field.” Shari
“From the moment I arrived for my appt. the staff was warm and informative. I truly enjoyed my first acupuncture treatment and will definitely return! “ JT
“Amazingly wonderful, peaceful, tranquil, and healing place. Everybody is so nice and soothing, and the treatment did wonders for me!! The price is right, they genuinely care, there is parking in back, and their hours are perfect for me. You even have your choice of teas in the waiting room if you get there early, like me. Bryn is so amazingly accurate and kind. I'm so glad I found this place!” KC

DIRECTIONS
New Harmony House
Harmony House is located in Beverly, MA, a small seaside city also known as “The Garden City,” a tribute to it’s many parks and open spaces. We are within walking distance to public transportation into Boston and near other urban amenities, such as schools, shopping, restaurants, places of worship and many cultural attractions. At New Harmony House we are devoted to tending “The Garden Within.” Our intention is to beautify our relationship with ourselves, in our families and in our communities. The New Harmony Wellness Center is on the first floor, a second floor apartment and we have a variety of practitioner spaces available.
We are change agents who have seen humanity’s need to go from “Me” thinking (what do I get out of a situation/crisis) to “We” thinking (how do we all benefit in this situation/crisis). We wish to contribute to a model for beautifying the world in this way.
These are our guiding principles:
We are aligned in creating an environment promoting physical and emotional health for all who enter, and foster positive and emotionally supportive relationships beneficial for children and adults.
We seek to act with fairness and integrity, building trust and allowing for personal growth.
We are dedicated to the common good, and strive to make all decisions that affect the group using the building in equitable ways. We are committed to resolving conflicts, problems and issues through honest, direct and respectful communication.
We work towards sustainable practices becoming the norm in the communities we live in and are committed to conserving our natural resources through energy conservation, recycling, sharing materials, and environmentally sound construction. We used sustainable, non-toxic building materials and methods in renewing our historic 1842 building.
We value diversity and welcome people from all classes, races, cultures, sexual orientations, and traditional and non-traditional families.
We aim to be part of the larger Beverly and North Shore communities by participating in neighborhood events, local governmental and social issues.
Those interested in renting practitioner space in the house are invited to email Bryn Clark at Healing@NewHarmonyWellness.com.
